When I was young, I imagined myself as a serious artist...the next Picasso, Miro, or Kandinsky. The only problem with that was "serious" has
NEVER been an adjective that has been used to describe me... NOR, is it one I would use to describe myself. It was when I realized that being true to yourself is what makes you a good artist ( not trying to be something you are not) that my work began to become more...well...more me.
It was when I stopped trying to be a "serious" artist, and gave into my true nature that the canvas stopped fighting me and painting became more of a joy than a struggle.
My subjective works are sweet, fun, funny, and whimsical. They are basically an extension my cartoons spilling onto the canvas and have the same bright colors and bold outlines found in Bongo's abstract work. The comment I hear most often about my work is, "Your paintings make me happy" Sure, it's NOT the same as "You're work reminds me of Picasso" but, I am totally happy to make people happy with my art.
Picasso was a genius but he was kind of a dick. :)
I am so excited to be adding this page to my site. These are the very FIRST paintings (and prints ) by Jerry There will be many more fun pieces to follow. I hope to add a new piece each week, so check back regularly...and let the fun begin.

"Boo-quet" 16"x 20" Acrylic on Canvas
The VERY FIRST "Jerry"!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this piece and don't mind saying it. I don't offer ANYTHING for sale that I am not happy with, but occasionally, I will finish a painting that I just can't stop looking at. These paintings are usually the pieces that define or redefine a direction and evolution of my work and often represent some sort of "ah-ha" moment in my artistic career. Boo-quet is one of those pieces. You could be the FIRST to own an original Jerry and the ONLY one to own the FIRST...Ooooh.. I like the way that rolled off the tongue. The original measures 16 x 20 inches and is being offered at $625 (Framed as shown) A limited edition of 31 large (10 x 13) signed and numbered prints are available for purchase $25 each and smaller 8 x 10 prints (not a limited edition) matted to 11 x 14 with foam backing, also $25

"A Day in the Garden
18 x 24 Inches
Acrylic on Canvas
(Commissioned Portrait)
"A Day in the Garden" is officially the third Jerry but, is a piece commissioned by a woman who saw my work 8 years ago at a bakery in Tulsa, Ok while I was still living in the mid-west. She found me on line and told me that she wanted a portrait of her as a little girl with the puppy she loved as an adult.....WHY NOT!!!??? That is the beauty of a painted portrait over a photo...creative liscense...taking all of the things we love most, the times we were happiest, the memories we are nostalgic about, and bringing them all together to create our own incredibly happy moment.....a happy moment that lasts forever AND looks great on your wall. I don't do a whole lot of commissioned pieces but, the numbers are increasing. I have been fortunate that nearly everyone who has commissioned a painting from me has,(aside from providing a few details of what they would like in the painting) given me total creative freedom. NOTHING is more flattering or appreciated by an artist then a person who says, "I trust you" when asking you to create something so personal and special. Brooke requested the setting be her backyard garden where she used to enjoy sitting and watching birds. (She told me she LOVED my birds and to be sure to put a couple in the painting) She sent photos of her, Amile, the garden and a close up of Amile's favorite collar.....
"A Day in the Garden" is the end result. One of my favorite things about being an artist is seeing the expression on a client's face when the finished piece is shown to them. I am happy to say that 100% have been thrilled with their finished paintings.
Signed prints of " A Day in the Garden" available.
Create YOUR OWN incredibly happy moment. Contact the artist for details and pricing of pet and people portraits.....How FUN?!!

"Luminitza’s Hare"
24" x 36"
Acrylic on Canvas
Traveling everywhere with a giant hare, exactly where this little gypsy girl is from, is a bit of a mystery. Some folks say that she and the rabbit are magical because people become immediately happy whenever and wherever the two show up. Many believe the two are related, that the hare is the reincarnation of a favorite relative. They call attention to the fact that she and the rabbit have the exact same color of eyes and even go on to theorize it was probably an elder, such as a grandmother or grandfather because the hare seems to be very wise. Others yet, believe that it is Luminitza’s ring that is magical. With four small red rubies which represent the four directions (essential for an adventurous and nomadic spirit ) and a large green stone in the center that continuously spirals in yellow, it mesmerizes…perhaps, even hypnotizes. There are even a few, who claim they can see hundreds of orbs of positive energy surrounding the gypsy girl and that these orbs are being gently pulled from the air into the curls of Luminitza’s long, dark, wavy hair. They claim that these orbs are created by the love and kindness she passes onto others so she is continuously renewing her peaceful, happy, spirit. Regardless of what you choose to believe, one thing is for certain, Luminitza certainly lives up to her name, which means, “Little Light” (Romanian)
Enchanting is the one word I would use to describe my newest painting. I believe this is my most beautiful painting to date. I spent four full days on the painting and once finished, sat up all night just looking at the her…this piece is truly magical.

Spring arrives a month early with this painting finished in the last days of a very cold February. Spring will be here before you know it, and with it, all of the promises of Spring. The grass becomes green again, trees and flowers bloom, and birds serenade one another with their sweet, simple love songs. The wind whips in every direction. It messes our hair, flirts playfully with ladies skirts ,and pushes us each towards the other. SOMETIMES... what seems to be a magical wind will even blow someone into our life unexpectedly. Someone who confuses your mind and your heart to the point of perfect clarity....and with it, the realization that you are IN love. It is this benevolat breeze that has brought these two young lovers together in my recent painting titled, "Amore" While, the painting perhaps, tells a story of first love, it is also a celebration of ALL love...first love, new love, old love, and true love...even the love that comes from friendships. Like the wind, love can come from any direction. It can come on a gentle breeze or with gale force. It often comes when, and from where, we least expect it.
By being open to love , we express love. Do not stand facing only one direction..face the wind in all directions with arms open wide.
